For the first time, one of the nation's top modified chassis builders will conduct a Modified Chassis Seminar as a part of the annual Mandan Swap Meet & Trade Show on Saturday February 18. Dakota Trackside Classic Modified Tour driver--Jeff Taylor of Taylor Motorsports--will host a seminar to assist our growing number of IMCA Modified drivers in the area. The Cave City, Arkansas driver and manufacturer of some of the top modified chassis’ in the country, will be on hand to do an intensive, hands on seminar during the Swap Meet, and at the same site the following day, using one of Taylor’s own cars. The event will be held at Corral Sales in Mandan, using their indoor showroom that is one of the largest RV display areas in the Midwest.The Swap Meet brings in used parts from four state area and uses a unique format in which drivers check in parts from a central location, using a tagging system so they don’t have to man their own booth. Parts are sold through a central checkout and drivers are paid after the event is complete. The event also features a Trade Show that has some of the top manufacturers and retailers in the region to showcase their latest merchandise so drivers can buy what they need for the upcoming racing season right at the event.Parts check in, and Trade Show move in, will be on Friday from 6:00-10:00 pm. Hours for the Swap Meet and Trade Show will be from 9 :00 am—5:00 pm on Saturday, Feb 18 only. Jeff Taylor will be on hand for a public Meet & Greet from 11:00—Noon. His seminar will be from Noon—4:00 on Saturday, and from 10:00—4:00 pm on Sunday, Feb. 19.Drivers interested in the Chassis Seminar will be charged only $50 for the 10 hour session. A limited number of seats will be available. Gate entry into the Swap Meet is $4 for adults and $1.00 for kids 6-12. Travis Ulmer racing the Wissota street stock number 3 hard to win the race against Bismarck's Brian Swenson (20). Quite possibly one of the closest finishes, Travis had him beat by 3/100ths of a second! Thank goodness for transponders!
