HANSON GOES BACK-TO-BACK AT DACOTAH SPEEDWAY

Front row starters Paul Schuh and Braydee Hanson battled for the lead in the IMCA Sport Compact feature. They raced side by side for the lead as Craig Kastner and Ken Sandberg raced door to door for third. Contact between Kastner and Sandberg left Sandberg super loose out of turn four as Hanson cleared Schuh for the lead. Hanson started to pull away as Schuh fell into the clutches of third place Kastner. With a few laps remaining, Kastner grabbed second place as Schuh started to feel pressure from behind from Sandberg. As the checkered flag waved, Schuh and Sandberg battled side by side for third place. Contact between the two drivers allowed Ken Sandberg to muscle by to finish third ahead of Paul Schuh. Craig Kastner finished a distant second place while Braydee Hanson won back-to-back feature victories at Dacotah Speedway. Points leader Stan Thompson rounded out the top five.

DAVENPORT’S MISFORTUNE IS VETTER’S GOOD LUCK

Linton’s Lance Jangula led the field to the green flag in the Hobby Stock feature. Roehrich grabbed the lead until an early caution regrouped the field. On the restart, it was a three car battle for the lead between Roehrich, Chad Hausauer and Seth-Howe Kellar. As Howe-Kellar shuffled into the lead, Hausuaer got loose, dropping him out of the top 10. As the laps wound down, Terry Davenport passed Howe-Kellar for the lead, bringing Brent Vetter with him. Racing to the checkered flag, Davenport got loose out of turn four and spun in front of the entire field. Brent Vetter, running second, barely slipped by to win the feature victory. Josh Roehrich finished second ahead of Dylan Sandberg as Seth Howe-Kellar finished ahead of Curt Michaelsohn.

JOCHIM HOLDS OFF WIEST AT THE LINE

Mike Dowling led early in the INEX Legends feature. Dowling led the first two laps before defending track champion, Donavin Wiest, drove by on lap three. Cautions came early and often but on a restart with nine laps to go, Wiest had a flat tire which sent him to the pits. That handed the lead over to Glyndon, Minnesota’s Andrew Jochim. Late race cautions erased Jochim’s lead and on the final restart of the night, Austin Wiest was all over Jochim’s rear bumper. However, when the checkered flag waved, Andrew Jochim held off Austin Wiest for the feature win. Points leader Drew Papke finished third while Carson Dowling finished ahead of Mike Dowling.

CARTER RETURNS TO DACOTAH SPEEDWAY VICTORY LANE

Pole sitter Nathan Messmer battled with outside pole sitter, Hunter Domagala, for the lead in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Messmer held off Domagala until an early caution reset the field. On the restart, Kyle Anderson passed Domagala for second. Anderson quickly reeled in Messmer and grabbed the lead on lap five. Jonny Carter, who started ninth, quickly passed Messmer for second and erased Anderson’s lead. They raced side by side for several laps, which allowed third place Todd Carter to make it a three car battle for the win. Jonny Carter shuffled into the lead and started to pull away, leaving Anderson and Todd Carter to race for second. Jonny Carter went on to win his fourth feature victory at Dacotah Speedway. Todd Carter finished second while Kyle Anderson, who led much of the race, settled for third. Matt Dosch finished fourth ahead of fifth place Nathan Messmer.

TOOLEY WINS FIRST DACOTAH SPEEDWAY VICTORY

After two complete restarts, Travis Tooley powered by pole sitter, Rusty Corneliusen for the lead in the IMCA Modified feature. As Tooley pulled away from the field, it was a battle for second as Drew Christianson tried to hold off Jeremy Keller. As they raced for second, it allowed Tom Berry, who was sent tail for causing a caution, to close in. As Keller passed Christianson, he brought Berry with him. With a handful of laps remaining, Berry challenged Keller for second. They briefly raced side by side until Berry slipped by. As Tooley negotiated his way through lapped traffic, Berry cut down his lead unfortunately, he ran out of time. When the checkered flag waved, Travis Tooley crossed the finish line first for the first time at Dacotah Speedway. Tom Berry’s second place finish clinched the track championship for the IMCA Modifeds. Jeremy Keller held off Marlyn Seidler at the finish line while Drew Christianson.
