Former NASCAR Driver Kenny Wallace to Race at Dacotah Speedway


Mandan, ND – Dacotah Speedway is excited to announce that former NASCAR driver, Kenny Wallace, is planning to race at Dacotah Speedway during the 4th Annual Coors Light Iron Man 100 on Friday, May 29th and May 30th. 


Wallace, first started racing on dirt back in 1982 racing his dad’s Street Stock. He won his first race the first time he hopped behind the wheel. Wallace quickly climbed the racing ranks and made his Nascar debut driving for the late Dale Earnhardt in 1988. He spent 27 years racing in NASCAR’S premier racing series before stepping back to focus on family and dirt track racing. 


Since then, Wallace has been travelling the country racing modifieds. He will make his first trip to Dacotah Speedway on Thursday, May 28th for a practice evening at the speedway. Pit gates will open at 5:00pm with a test and tune starting promptly at 6:00pm. Pit fee will be $25 for drivers and pit crews but race fans can watch for free from the grandstands. 


Wallace will make his Dacotah Speedway debut on Friday, May 29th for Night 1 of the Iron Man 100. Wallace will be piloting the number 36 IMCA Modified with a chance to win $1000. Also racing that evening will be the WISSOTA Street Stocks and INEX Legends. 


Wallace will return on Night 2 of the Ironman 100 to compete in the 100 lap IMCA Modified feature. Drivers in the feature will battle for the chance to win $5,000. Also racing that night will be the Hobby Stocks, IMCA Sport Compacts and special guests, IMCA Sport Mods.

Dacotah Speedway and Bennigan’s are partnering to host a Meet and Greet with Kenny Wallace on Saturday, May 30th at Bennigan’s from 1:00pm - 4:00pm located at 1506 27th Street N in Mandan. Fans can come and meet Kenny before the races, get autographs and take pictures with him while enjoying Bennigan’s excellent cuisine and refreshments.

The 4th annual Iron Man 100 will kick off with a practice night on Thursday, May 28th at Dacotah Speedway. Night 1 will be Friday, May 29th with Night 2 ending with a 100 lap, $5,000 to win IMCA Modified feature on Saturday, May 30th. 


Grandstands open at 6:00pm with the green flag waving at 7:00pm each night. Tickets are $20 for race fans.
