"Beyond The Dirt" With Jason Meidinger

Dacotah Speedway:  What is your most memorable race?
Jason:  Opening night of 2014.  I ended the 2013 season with a nasty rollover at Southwest Speedway in Dickinson and spent the winter building a brand new car.  The first night out with the new car I had my best ever finish at the time and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had racing.

Dacotah Speedway:  Who inspired you the most?
Jason:  I don't know that there was any one person in particular, since I've always had an obsession with race cars for as long as I can remember.  I do have to credit my parents for always encouraging my interests though, even if they were silly things like race cars.

Dacotah Speedway:  Why car number 13?
Jason:  I originally had the number 0 as I had used it before in other types of racing.  After 2014, which was one of the most unlucky seasons I've had since I started racing, I decided that the bad luck must be tied to the number.  So I decided that I needed to give Lady Luck a kick in the pants, and couldn't think of a better way to do it than to go to good old lucky number 13.  So far, so good.

Dacotah Speedway:  Do you have a favorite non-racing hobby?
Jason:  I enjoy spending time on the boat in the summer.  It's relaxed, laid-back, and stress free.  So, basically the opposite of racing.

Dacotah Speedway:  What is a dirt track you've always wanted to race on?
Jason:  I'd really like to get to Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN someday.  I've always wanted to see what running a half mile dirt track would be like, and the Fall Classic looks like a blast.

Dacotah Speedway:  Special thanks to anyone?
Jason:  I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad for always encouraging me, all of the friends I've made dirt racing who have helped me out building and setting up my cars, and of course my sponsors.  Without Robi's Repair, Diversity Homes, Bens Electric, Mag 4, and Farley's Freek Shop Racing Graphics, I wouldn't be able to do all of this.
