Over 120 Cars For Test & Tune

The calendars may say its spring but it is officially “Racing Season” at the Dacotah Speedway. After many days of cold and dreary weather, the track volunteers scrambled to prepare the track for Test and Tune on Saturday, April 30th. Their hard work paid off as over 120 drivers traveled for some practice laps around the 3/8's mile dirt track.

The grandstands were open and fans got to see a wide variety of cars hit the track for the very first time this year. Including our usual IMCA Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks, INEX Legends, Hobby Stock and IMCA Sport Compacts, fans also got to see several IMCA Sport Modifieds,  a WISSOTA Late Model, a Sprint Car and even an Enduro car.

Test and Tune was a success for most drivers. However, for one unfortunate driver, they lost an entire transmission bell housing and tail shaft on the backstretch. For the most part, Test and Tune was pretty clean as most yellow flags were for single car spins.

Fans can see all the action for themselves on Friday, May 6th for our season opener brought to you by Hedahls Auto Plus, Prairie Knights Casino and Hirsch Florist. The first 500 mom’s through the front gate get a free carnation courtesy of Hirsch Florist.  And Bud Light Limes are just $3.  The gates open at 6:00pm and the green flag waves for the first time this season at 7:00pm. Discount tickets are available at select Cenex locations in Bismarck, Mandan and Lincoln.
